Abortion

Abortion is a medical procedure that removes the fetus from the uterus. Abortion can have immediate side effects and/or long-term physical and emotional consequences. It is important to understand all the facts so you can make an informed decision.

There are different types of abortion women can choose from. However, the options available to your situation will be determined by how far along you are into the pregnancy. During the first trimester, you will usually have the option of having a chemical (pill) abortion procedure or a surgical abortion procedure. Chemical abortions are only available up through nine weeks gestation.

Before exploring your options you will need an ultrasound to determine the location of the pregnancy (ectopic vs. inside the uterus), to determine if the pregnancy is viable (growing normally or miscarrying), and for accurate pregnancy dating.

Please call us to schedule an appointment to obtain an ultrasound and discuss your different options. We would be happy to make same day appointments.
